The International Conference on Multimodal Interaction will be hosted by CU Boulder this year. ICMI is the premier international forum for multidisciplinary research on multimodal human-human and human-computer interaction, interfaces, and system development. The conference focuses on theoretical and empirical foundations, component technologies, and combined multimodal processing techniques that define the field of multimodal interaction analysis, interface design and system development.

Highlights this year include:

  • Keynotes discussing human vocal expressions, technology for health and wellbeing and the human smile
  • Tutorials covering multimodal-multisensor behavioral analytics and deep-learning in multimodal interaction analysis
  • Workshops discussing human-food interaction, group interaction, modeling cognitive processes, human habitats for health and artificial agents in human-machine interaction
  • Challenges involving eating analysis and tracking and recognizing emotions in the wild
  • Panels investigating the future of multimodal research
  • Plenary oral sessions and poster sessions

And more!

There is also funding available to broaden participation by covering related costs (e.g., childcare) as well as scholarships available for undergraduate students to attend the conference (submissions due by Sept. 30; get details).

Please check out complete details as well as registration fees at the conference website. We hope to see you there!
