4 Micro Workshops: Designing Alternative Media Platforms Public Presentation

Part of the CU's Media and Public and Engagement Program (inside of the department of Media Studies), Designing Alternative Media Platforms is a course that uses non-traditional forms of media to exhibit student research and build connections with community leaders. Students this semester have had the pleasure of visiting the Denver Zine Library, the Carnegie Research Library, and KGNU. The course also surveys creative practices such as self-publishing, podcasting, oral histories, and Craftivism to expand the impact of student work, culminating in the design of a unique cultural event focusing on each individual's research.
