Join us for an Exhibition Reception of the Collaborative Exhibition with Rocky Mountain Land Library (RMLL) and CU Boulder Environmental Design
Overview:
This exhibit explores the intersection of architecture, nature, and cultural heritage at the Rocky Mountain Land Library, Buffalo Peaks Ranch near Fairplay, CO. It highlights how design can foster a deep connection to the land, build community, and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of the American West.
The artifacts, photographs, and historical remnants provide context, revealing Indigenous and settler histories while showcasing architecture’s role in education, reflection, and stewardship. The student work featured is from ARCH3100, a community-engaged studio led by Teaching Professor, Marianne Holbert, AIA, in collaboration with RMLL leadership.
It invites visitors to explore how innovative design can create a sustainable, immersive learning environment while honoring the cultural and natural heritage of the American West.
