Advanced Excel Modeling Class with Prof Tom Thibodeau This class will be held over two-days. The software is launched using Google Chrome. Aimed at those who have beginner to intermediate technical skills and are trying to up their skills to an advanced level. Commercial real estate topics include cash flow analysis, construction and development, and joint venture/partnerships.

Pre-requisite Requirements This is not an introductory to excel course. Students must be proficient with basic financial functions in excel (i.e. PV, NPV, FV, PMT, IRR, NPV, etc.) and be able to construct basic real estate discounted cash flow proforma prior to taking the class. Leeds School of Business Student MUST HAVE COMPLETED Real Estate Finance and Investments (either MBAX 6610 or REAL 4100) with a grade of B or better prior to registering for this class. What will you learn? This workshop is designed especially for real estate finance professionals who want to build highly functional discounted cash flow models using Excel. Students will learn Excel model architecture best practices and develop their own spreadsheets for different deal and property types that will allow them to model a wide spectrum of real estate investment scenarios quickly and effectively. Students will use advanced tools in Excel and apply them immediately to their own Excel models. Important skills that will be addressed in detail include leveraged acquisition models, construction and development models, using statistical skills to better model real estate investment risk, and auditing existing models.
