Alt. Protein Journal Club

The Boulder Alt. Protein Project presents our first journal club meeting of the semester. We'll be reading “Opportunities for applying biomedical production and manufacturing methods to the development of the clean meat industry”, a scientific article published in Biochemical Engineering Journal in 2018. During this event, chemical and biomedical engineering grad student Mia Keyser will give an accessible summary of the insights that the authors of this article present. Afterwards, we will discuss the various ways that we can apply biomedical technologies to the cell-cultured meat industry and talk about how innovation in cellular agriculture can help advance the field of medicine while also helping mitigate many negative environmental and social issues associated with conventional meat production.

This is how it works:

1. You read the article prior to the event, which can be read online.

2. On Wednesday, you enter the meeting ID (921 6517 5407) to join our virtual Zoom call and we will have a discussion about the article together.

3. And finally, to stay in the loop about our events, follow us on Facebook and on Twitter/Instagram (@boulderaltpro), sign up for our email listor shoot us an email at boulderaltpro@gmail.com.
