The editors of the Research Handbook on Education Privatization and Marketization, in Colorado for AERA, will be holding an event for CU Boulder students, faculty, and staff, as well as colleagues attending online, to discuss the themes that emerged in the new handbook. The research handbook analyzes global trends within education privatization and marketization, two of the most debated topics in contemporary education policy. An international array of expert contributors to the book provides case studies from across Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

The handbook is edited by Adrián Zancajo, Clara Fontdevila, Huriya Jabbar & Toni Verger. The event is hosted and chaired by CU Boulder Research Professor and National Education Policy Center Director Kevin Welner and will feature editors Zancajo and Fontdevila, as well as discussants Frank Adamson and Chris Lubienski, followed by an ample period of time for discussion with the audience. We will explore new topics and challenges in education privatization and marketization research plus new avenues, approaches, and research lines.
