Oct 5th - IT'S SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY - This existential dark comedy from the twisted mind of Don Hertzfeldt, follows a troubled stick figure who struggles with his reality as he begins to lose his memory.
Oct 6th - ANGEL'S EGG - A title that has flown under the radar for many, ANGEL'S EGG is the near-silent fantasy tale about a soldier who explores a futuristic dead zone alongside a young girl carrying a mysterious egg. From director Mamoru Oshii.
Oct 7th - SHe - An undiscovered gem from the stop-motion artist Zhou Shengwei following a largely ambiguous story about a totalitarian wordl of shoes with one who doesn't quite fit into the mold.
Oct 8th - GHOST IN THE SHELL - The much more recognized cult classic from Mamorua Oshii, GHOST IN THE SHELL was a cultural phenomenon of the 90s that helped continue the upward trend of the Western embrace of anime.
Oct 9th - SON OF THE WHITE MARE - Only recently released in the US, in this 1980's dreamlike Hungarian folk myth, a horse goddess gives birth to three powerful brothers who set out into the Underworld to save three princesses from three evil dragons and reclaim their ancestors' lost kingdom.
Oct 10th - MARY & MAX - Based on true events, this stop-motion delight tells the story of 8-year-old Mary who strikes up a penpal friendship with a New Yorker named Max.
Oct 11th - CORALINE - From the mind of Henry Selick (of NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS fame), Coraline is swept away to a fantastical version of her new home with a sinister secret burried underneath. Kids get in free!!!
