I think that it was a very informative session and I was able to retain few take home messages that will help in my job search. I will be attending any workshops of this kind if offered. Thanks for putting this together!

I found the activity very useful. Only recently have I become interested in an academic career. I used to teach and do research in a government lab setup (no publications possible, and low budget for networking activities), until I decided to quit to prepare myself better through more grad school. I didn't realize the damage I was doing all those years to a potential academic career, in spite of considering that doing science and teaching at university are my call in life. Dr. Carter was brutally honest about the competitive/difficult nature of the hiring process with dozens of top/young people doing so much more than in the past, and in my opinion discouraging enough to dominate any positivity of Dr. Ahmed and Dr. Gooseff. En fin, at least it is not too late to rethink now what I should do after I graduate. It was enlightening.
There should be more time for questions. The food was ok, but went cold quickly. The room was fit for purpose. Thank you for organizing this activity.

Not bad, but too general and person-based. I expected more systematic and step by step procedure. It was more like a friendly talking with a professor about his/her personal experiences.
