DESCRIPTION:Aubrey Hobart received her MA in Art History at the University 
 of Colorado Boulder in 2010\n\nHobart is an art historian who works as the
  Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Roswell Museum and Art Cent
 er in Roswell\, New Mexico. With more than twenty years of experience in a
 ll aspects of museum work\, she believes in the power of museums to suppor
 t and transform their communities. Her primary areas of expertise are in M
 esoamerican and Colonial Latin American art\, as well as trends in museum 
 exhibitions\, but two years of working in Roswell have provided a crash co
 urse in 20th century New Mexican art and history\, as well. Dr. Hobart gra
 duated from the University of California\, Santa Cruz with a PhD in Visual
  Studies. She also holds a Master’s degree in Art History from the Unive
 rsity of Colorado\, Boulder\, and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology fr
 om New College of Florida.\n\n \n\nThe Art & Art History department has in
 vited arts leaders from around the region and CU Boulder alumni to share t
 heir knowledge and provide a direct link for students to learn about and d
 iscuss career-relevant topics. We invite all students to participate and p
 ave a new pathway for a thriving career in the arts.\n\nThis program is de
 signed as a series of professional development conversations that encourag
 es skills development through peer-to-peer exchange. Topics will include: 
 arts funding\, museum standards and best practices\, creative business pla
 ns\, exhibition development\, and many others. These discussions can help 
 students examine the successes and challenges of working in the arts\, bui
 ld a community of future collaborators and engage in critical thinking abo
 ut the role of the arts within our society.\n\nFree to participateNo advan
