CU Research Computing, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), is hosting a hands-on workshop introducing Kiro IDE, an AI-powered development environment designed to support agentic software development.

Participants will explore Kiro's capabilities through guided demonstrations and hands-on labs, including vibe coding, spec-driven development, steering documents, agent hooks, and MCP integrations. The workshop will focus on practical techniques for using AI to accelerate development, automate workflows, and connect applications with external tools and data sources.

Workshop AWS accounts will be provided by the AWS team. Participants do not need to bring or set up their own AWS accounts.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Build applications using AI-assisted development and vibe coding
  • Use specs, steering documents, and agent hooks to structure and automate development
  • Connect applications to external tools and data using MCP

Prerequisites:

Participants should have a laptop, stable internet connection, and basic programming experience. Familiarity with Python is recommended. No prior Kiro experience is required.

Registration is required. Zoom information will be sent in the confirmation email if attending virtually.
