An interactive, hands-on textile and sound experience by Jordan Wirfs-Brock and Mikhaila Friske, members of the Unstable Design Lab and PhD students in INFO.

What happens when sound and touch collide? This interactive, hands-on installation invites you to explore how our lived experience of time is entangled with space and movement, tied up in our senses of sound and touch. Explore several tactile-sonic experiences, including a crocheted quilt that—when you scrunch, fold, and touch it—allows you to manipulate an immersive, ambisonic soundscape in real time. The artists also invite you to share your personal experiences—touch, sound, and time—through a series of provocative, interactive prompts.

Come experience the installation in ATLAS B2 Black Box Experimental Studio:

  • Thurs 12/2 from 12:00-5:00pm
  • Fri 12/3 from 2:00-7:00pm (artist talk at 4:30)
  • Mon 12/6 from 12:00-5:00pm
  • Tues 12/7 from 12:00-5:00pm
