Beat Back the Ban

Come to the East Entrance of Norlin Library on April 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to engage in a conversation about free speech, book challenges and censorship. You can receive a free book that has been banned or challenged. Check out our banned books resource guide for a list of books that have been challenged or banned in previous year.

Since 1982, libraries nationwide have defended access to information by drawing attention to threats against the right to read. The Libraries believe that access to high quality information, diverse viewpoints and information literacy are some of the ways that we can support and promote a robust democracy. We encourage free speech, thoughtful discourse and research that informs policy and serves the public good.
