Title: A day in the life of a data scientist 

Zia Mehrabi runs The Better Planet Laboratory at CU Boulder — a group of data scientists and creatives that build data products and services to solve problems in development for a better and fairer planet. Their work crosses a number of development areas including food security, climate change, biodiversity, human health, welfare, infrastructure and technology. The Better Planet Laboratory has worked with a number of partners including the CGIAR, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation, UN Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights and The World Bank, among others. Mehrabi holds a BA in biological sciences and a PhD from the University of Oxford.
