In this book club, we explore four stories from Callings: The Purpose and Passion of Work, a StoryCorps book by Dave Isay. These are stories of brave and inspiring individuals who defy norms and expectations in order to reach their dreams.

This book club centers on three stories where the storytellers describe how their work moves them into a state of flow. Attendees need not have read the chapters.

• John Maycumber and Barbara Abelhauser, Bridgetender
• Joshua Gubitz and Len Berk, Salmon Slicer
• Steve Sutter and Sharon Long, Forensic Artist

The Buffs One Read fosters community through the shared reading of one book and to advance the role of curiosity, critical thinking, and intellectual inquiry in the academic experience.
