Join us as we explore "Acceptance", one of the eight pillars of joy offered by the Dalai Lama and the Archbishop in The Book of Joy.

We live in the age of grievance and vindictiveness. Could something as simple as acceptance be the cure to what ails us? In this practice on December 6 from 12 p.m. - 12:50 p.m., we will draw inspiration from classic works of Urdu and Persian literature and reflect on two aspects of what acceptance might require. The first aspect is an awareness of our insignificance and the second aspect is, somewhat ironically, our role as stewards. In light of the tension between these two aspects of acceptance, we will consider the possibility that, rather than a state of repose, acceptance may actually be quite laborious.

Facilitated by Aun Hasan Ali, assistant professor, Religious Studies
