About this Event
View mapJoin us as we explore “Gratitude”, one of the eight pillars of joy offered by the Dalai Lama and the Archbishop in The Book of Joy.
This session is on February 14 from 12 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. It is a 50 minute hands-on meditation and art creation exercise to tune into, and get to know your personal power and resourcing force. To start, we will bring awareness to this important part of us through a guided meditation practice and then we will bring it to life giving it its own personality by creating contemplative art. By doing this we will be able to bring gratitude back to ourselves, and those that allowed us to find strength in ourselves.
Facilitated by Esther Horowitz, bilingual mental health counselor for staff and faculty (FSAP) in Health and Wellness, and staff council tri-chair.
This event is a part of a series of guided mindfulness practices and book clubs offered in celebration of 23-24 Buffs One Read, sponsored by the University Libraries, the Renee Crown Wellness Institute, and the Contemplative Resource Center. To learn more about The Book of Joy, join our community course to read a summary of the chapter about “Gratitude”, explore discussion questions, and engage in activities
