 nvironmental and architectural engineering at CU Boulder and a licensed pr
 ofessional engineer whose research focuses on how buildings perform under 
 extreme hazards like earthquakes. Her work examines structural safety\, ri
 sk and resilience—from predicting collapse and improving building codes 
 to understanding life safety risks and economic losses in communities. She
  is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award and a Mars
 hall Scholar.
