 the first cohort of CAAAS Fellows and featuring a keynote address from sch
 olar Rachel Elizabeth Harding.\n\n \n\nThe event will take place on March 
 10\, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Center for British and Irish Studies at No
 rlin Library. Registration is required.\n\n \n\nAbout Rachel Elizabeth Har
 ding: Harding is a poet\, historian\, and scholar of Afro-Atlantic diaspor
 a religion and is an associate professor emeritus and former chair of the 
 Department of Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado Denver. Harding
  writes about religion\, creativity and social justice in the experience o
 f communities of African descent in the US and Brazil.\n\n \n\nHarding’s
  honors include a Colorado Black Roundtable Civil Rights Award\, a Cave Ca
 nem Poetry Fellowship\, the Sterling Brown Distinguished Visiting Professo
 rship at Williams College\, the Rosa Parks Award from the University of Co
 lorado Denver\, and an honorary doctorate from the Starr-King School for t
 he Ministry.\n\n \n\nAbout the CAAAS Fellowship: a collaboration between t
 he University Libraries and the CAAAS\, the fellowship supports graduate s
 tudents conducting research and creative work in African\, African America
 n\, and African diaspora studies. Fellows receive funding for travel\, acc
 ess to unique collections\, and dedicated librarian support to advance the
 ir scholarship.
