On Feb. 1, 2023, Colorado Governor Jared Polis proclaimed Feb. 1, the first day of Black History Month each year, as the Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS) Day.

The Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS) is a new center at CU Boulder, and we cordially invite all students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members to come to the CAAAS Day Black History Month Celebration on Thursday, Feb. 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. The CAAAS Day Black History Month Celebration will feature food, music, dance, poetry and other Africana cultural expressions.
