GUEST SPEAKER: Ella Wagener, natural resource policy advisor, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

ABOUT: Ella will join us to share about the her role with FWS, the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) program with the federal government, and her insights and recommendations for working in the FWS and other federal agencies. Ella graduated from CU Boulder in 2006 with a major in Environmental Studies, and a minor in Political Science. She went on to graduate from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, in 2011. She has been working for the FWS, National Wildlife Refuge System, for 8 years providing research, analysis, strategic thinking, and policy and regulatory guidance on a broad range of complex natural resource and public lands management issues. She entered the federal government through the PMF program, which is a highly selective, rigorous two-year (paid) leadership program for people with an advanced degree who are considering a career in the federal government. If selected for the program, it leads to a multitude of career opportunities with various agencies in the federal government.
