Featuring 21 stunning black & white and color photographs taken by CU alum Chris Sessions, this  exhibit at the Center of the American West explores the human-horse connection in charrería, the national sport of Mexico. For ten years, Sessions has been documenting charrería (also known as Mexican rodeo) as experienced by Colorado-local professionals, their families and communities. From masterful use of the lasso to the skirmish techniques of the female-led escaramuzas, the photographs selected for this exhibit speak to the stunning connection between horse and rider. In scales both vast and intimate, witness a rich tradition as it plays out in the current complexity of the American West.

Please note: exhibit not open on Fridays, but you can visit it virtually at: https://www.colorado.edu/center/west
