About this Event
CUmulus is a new cloud computing resource hosted by CU Research Computing that enables researchers at CU Boulder as well as institutions in the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium (RMACC) to create applications and workflows that may not fit as well into the traditional high performance computing environment. CUmulus offers the ability to create and administer custom Linux virtual machines (VMs) for a variety of applications. CUmulus is free-to-use, and is an ideal entry into cloud computing for novice users who may not yet be comfortable using commercial cloud providers. Additional info on CUmulus: https://curc.readthedocs.io/en/latest/hybrid-cloud/cumulus.html
What will be covered: In this hands-on tutorial users will log into the CUmulus web portal and learn how to "spin up" their own virtual machine.
Prerequisites: Participants must be faculty, staff or students at CU Boulder or an RMACC institution (https://rmacc.org). ; Some Linux experience is strongly recommended.
Registration is required.
