Climate Change in our Backyard: This is how the world ends. Not with a bang but with ... bees?

Climate change has affected the globe—from melting ice caps to drying water sources—and bees are no exception. Though the link between global warming and bees isn’t immediately apparent, it’s definitely there. Join us to find out the ways climate change has become a contributing factor in the decline of bees and how it may ultimately affect crops like broccoli, pumpkins and coffee!

Katelyn Long is currently a graduate student in the chemistry department studying polymer research for an engineering group at CU Boulder, but bees really hit home for her—literally. She grew up on a small bee farm in Kentucky and over the years has come to appreciate how important bees are—not just for making honey but also for pollination. When she's not doing research, she likes getting outside with her sassy pup and exploring Colorado!
