This workshop focuses on an excerpt from Linda Sarsour in our Buffs One Read book, American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures edited by America Ferrera. The essay focuses on themes of radical love, solidarity and community. During our time together, we will introduce ourselves to this essay and reorient to a slower reading practice. We will share responses not with an aim of expertise, but instead with the aim of listening to ourselves and one another. This session is for anyone interested in learning more about American Like Me and contemplative reading techniques. You are invited to attend whether or not you’ve read American Like Me.

Content note: The essay we will read together references experiences of anti-Muslim racism.
