Getting started on a High Performance Computing cluster, such as Alpine, can be a daunting task for the uninitiated. Join us for this two-part RC Short Course* where we will cover the basics!

Part 2 of this series will discuss the fundamentals of job submission. Topics will include: a breakdown of Alpine’s hardware, submitting batch jobs, beginning interactive jobs, and submitting existing scripts to the cluster. You can expect to leave this training with a solid understanding of how to submit different types of jobs to Alpine.

In order to follow along with the hands-on component of this workshop, you’ll want to have a research computing account and a very basic understanding of Linux. If you need assistance with creating an account, we have a video to help with that: Creating an Account. If you would like to develop your understanding of Linux, you can attend the RC Short Course: Supercomputing Spin Up 1: Working with Linux on September 3rd. We will also be available for CRDDS Office Hours immediately after this training for any follow-up questions.

* What is an RC Short Course?: An RC Short Course is a training that provides an in-depth understanding of a concept, system, or tool. You can expect to leave a "Short Course" with a solid grasp of the topic.

Registration is required. Zoom information will be sent in the confirmation email.
