This workshop focuses on the importance of creating a unique niche in your department. This involves remaining flexible and open to changes in the trajectory of your career, understanding the needs of your department, and effectively integrating yourself as an essential faculty member. Each of our 3-4 panelists will briefly explain their own experiences with career-defining professional changes, adjusting to new cultures and expectations, and finding ways to make valuable contributions to their respective departments. They will then offer a few concrete (and memorable) suggestions that may help participants navigate similar challenges during their careers at CU. A 20-minute open discussion/Q&A with participants follows.
