Aspiring Entrepreneurs! In this workshop, you will be introduced to the Biodesign Innovation process - Identify, Invent, Implement - specifically as it relates to the development of medical devices and health technology startups. However, the tools we will discuss can be applied to a wide range of fields and can be used to develop novel ideas, technologies, and processes to solve hard human problems.

We will cover:

  • Need finding and need statement development, and staying solution agnostic
  • Factors to consider when filtering and assessing different needs including but not limited to: regulatory pathway, technological feasibility, reimbursement/business model, competitors, market size, impact, and available expertise.
  • How to validate needs and refine selection criteria
  • Translating a need into possible solutions: brainstorming techniques and tools
  • Funding your idea and telling a compelling story

"Success isn't final, failure isn't fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts."
