CU Boulder's Ed Talks: Modding New Social Realities in our Virtual and Everyday Worlds
Have you ever thought about a video game as a space of learning? In these Ed Talks, we investigate the role of play and experimentation as a site of meaningful and transformative learning. Our talks feature speakers from The Learning To Transform Video Gaming Lab, a program founded by Assistant Professor Arturo Cortez with the Youth Empowerment Broadcasting Organization, a youth media community-based program based in Aurora. By exploring the worlds of gaming, education, and technologies, we are examining, modding, transforming, and re-imagining histories of dispossession and cultural erasure, and creating new social realities and possibilities for our collective survival.
Join us as we explore re-designing our relationships with the virtual, each other, and ourselves.
The Fall 2022 Ed Talks on Nov. 30 will be held in-person at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, and the event is free and open to the public. CU Boulder's Ed Talks is a series of short, engaging talks that address some of today's most pressing issues in education and beyond.
