About this Event
The 2021 University of Colorado (CU) Social Justice Summit offers faculty, staff, administration, and our external constituents a space to examine and learn best practices for fostering inclusion on our campuses, in our communities, and within the University system. This Summit is designed to recognize effective strategies and initiatives, target areas of improvement, and provide best practices to work towards campus cultural and climate transformation.
Diversity is a core value at CU. As stated in our Strategic Plan, "To succeed, the working group must recognize the strength of diverse communities and perspectives. We must continue and enhance our commitment to creating an inclusive culture in pursuit of our goals of excellence and meeting the needs of the state, nation and world."
We acknowledge that this statement alone does not make our campuses diverse and inclusive; our goal is to fully engage participants and offer tangible, evidence based, and effective strategies that they can implement as employees of the University of Colorado.
We are proud to announce the two keynote speakers for the Summit:
Theodosia Cook, chief diversity officer for the University of Colorado System
Rev. Jamie Washington M.Div., Ph.D., president and founder of the Washington Consulting Group
