CU’s Violence Prevention Project: Understanding the Warning Signs for Violence & Strategies for Upstander Intervention

About this Event
To raise awareness about the warning signs for violence, the importance of upstander reporting, and Safe2Tell as one avenue for reporting safety related concerns, the University of Colorado Boulder’s Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence is hosting an educational and interactive program on Keeping CU Safe.
The presentation seeks to educate and empower faculty and staff to be aware of and report their safety-related concerns to Colorado’s Safe2Tell, as one avenue for reporting concerns at CU. Violence prevention researcher Sarah Goodrum will present information on the warning signs for violence, the challenges with being an upstander, and the use of
Colorado’s Safe2Tell tip line. Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s Amanda Giguere will discuss the power of theater for role-playing upstander scenarios for participants.
