Join us for a day-long symposium exploring the intersection of data science and the humanities. This event brings together renowned scholars who apply computational methods, big data, and AI to humanities research, offering fresh insights into how technology is transforming the field.

 

The symposium is divided into two sessions:

 

🔹 Daytime Symposium (CU Boulder Participants Only)
📍 Location: Center for British & Irish Studies (M549), Norlin Library
⏳ Time: 12:00 – 5:15 PM
🎟 Capacity: 80 attendees max. (Lunch provided for registered attendees.)

 

This session features three invited speakers—Katherine Elkins, Jo Guldi, and Katherine Bode—who will discuss AI in literature, big data in historical research, and computational methods in literary studies.

 

🔹 Evening Keynote (Open to the Public)
📍 Location: Chancellor’s Auditorium, CASE
⏳ Time: 5:30 – 6:45 PM
🎟 Capacity: 200 attendees max.

 

This public keynote event features Dr. Safiya U. Noble, who will explore algorithmic bias, digital justice, and the ethical challenges of AI in today’s digital landscape.
