Are you applying for an NSF, NEH or other opportunity that requires a Data Management Plan (DMP)? Join this 30-min. workshop, and come away understanding how to initiate and create a DMP—required by NSF, sometimes NEH, and, as of 2023, NIH. DMPs are essential to demonstrating long-term valuable impact of your research, excellent project management and foresight, and a commitment to reducing research waste—CRDDS is here to provide support. Data Librarian Jordan Wrigley from the Center for Research Data and Digital Scholarship (CRDDS) will walk you through several free resources and tools, including CRDDS' DMP Tool, and you will come away with an initial draft.

In addition to sharing this free tool which allows you to draft an initial Data Management Plan (DMP), Wrigley will do a quick tour of CRDDS’ other resources and tools available to CU Boulder researchers, such as:

  • Data Management Plan Review Service
  • Templates & "boiler plate" / model language to use in proposals
  • Storage place (with related fees)
  • Sample costs required in budgets
  • Ideas for how to publish data openly (often a requirement by federal sponsors)
  • Ways to publish data that complies with IRB / privacy / confidentiality (i.e.., ways to anonymize data)
