Join us at the Center for Research Data and Digital Scholarship for our brown bag series! The speaker for this Brown Bag will be Laurie Gries, faculty in PWR and Communication, in a talk titled “The Swastika Monitor: Doing DH to Track Visual Rhetorics of Hate.”

This brown bag talk explores how digital humanities scholars can contribute to contemporary hate tracking efforts by inventing data activist tools to trace the recent surge of swastikas surfacing in the United States.

Light refreshments will be served.

Throughout the academic year, CU students and faculty will address how they practice digital and/or open scholarship and what benefits there are to doing so. Through these informal talks and ensuing discussion, we hope to increase the exposure of the different approaches to discovery, and the novel research questions that can be addressed through the use of digital tools and methods.
