To celebrate Disability Awareness Month, also known as National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and the 50th anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Digital Accessibility Office will host a series of events in the month of October. We are also utilizing this month to reflect on where we have been and how we can continue to grow. We invite all participants to use this month to educate yourselves further and assess how you can advocate for individuals with disabilities and create and inclusive and accessible environment for all.

On Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Digital Accessibility Office is proud to host the A2Y Virtual Conference. This virtual conference is designed to bring participants together to engage in inspiring discussions, share best practices, and foster a more inclusive environment for all.

Discover the innovative accessibility initiatives undertaken by our very own campus community. It’s been 50 years since the Rehabilitation Act, and accessibility shows up in various ways. Attendees will have an opportunity to share how they include accessible strategies to enhance accessibility in teaching, research, and daily interactions.

This event is open to the public and registration is required. We look forward to seeing you there and please do not hesitate to reach out at DigitalAccessibility@Colorado.EDU if you have any questions!

If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled events listed below, we have created a list of other opportunities and ways for you to celebrate and get involved! To learn more, visit the DAO Disability Awareness Month website.
