To celebrate Disability Awareness Month, also known as National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and the 50th anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Digital Accessibility Office will host a series of events in the month of October. We are also utilizing this month to reflect. We invite all participants to use this month to educate yourselves further and assess how you can advocate for individuals with disabilities and create and inclusive and accessible environment for all.

On October 9th, in collaboration with CU Recreation Services, we are proud to host Accessible Yoga Day! Join us for a Chair Yoga practice that will have focus on breath with movement. Jackie Nelson will lead these classes to accommodate all levels of experience and previous experience is not required. Jackie will be hosting two yoga sessions on October 9th; an in - person practice from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Rec Center in Studio 2 and a virtual practice from 4 PM to 4:45 PM. Registration is required for both sessions. Please visit the Accessible Yoga Day website for both the in - person and virtual registration forms.

You may bring your own equipment but yoga blocks, blankets, straps and mats will be available for attendees participating in the in - person session.

After completing the registration form for the virtual yoga session, the Zoom link will be sent to you after completing the registration form.

The events are open to all CU Boulder students, staff, and faculty. We look forward to seeing you there and please do not hesitate to reach out at DigitalAccessibility@Colorado.EDU if you have any questions!

If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled events listed below, we have created a list of other opportunities and ways for you to celebrate and get involved! To learn more, visit the DAO Disability Awareness Month website.
