About this Event
Microaggressions often convey hidden messages that reveal biased beliefs about historically marginalized groups. These interactions are difficult to discern and can have lasting harm on individuals. However, when reported, individuals committing such microaggressions are likely to feel challenged and defensive, which may unintentionally extend more harm. RELATE-ing can provide a useful framework for individuals to address their behaviors without negating its impact. Join Dr. Rachana Bhave from the CTL in an interactive session to explore RELATE strategies aimed at addressing micro-aggressions through bridging the gap between intent and impact of such statements.
