About this Event
View mapDr. Angela Neal-Barnett, an award-winning psychologist, expert on anxiety among African Americans, and author of “Soothe Your Nerves” will host a conversation on "The Anxiety of Being the Only.”
Being and Only - the only woman, the only person of color, the only one openly suffering from a mental or physical illness — can contribute to existing and promote the development of mental health issues. At the same time, bringing your whole self to work, school or research — even when you are an “only” can be a huge strength.
The event aims to provide insights and strategies for managing anxiety and enhancing leadership skills among students and faculty who classify as an "only" at CU Boulder.
Oct. 16 | CASE Auditorium | 4:30–5:30 p.m.
This event is sponsor by the Renée Crown Institute, Psychology and Neuroscience Department, and Colorado Diversity Initiative.
