In the ELEMENTAL Tajik Arts exhibition at the Museum of Boulder, 16 University of Colorado Boulder students showcase their work from a summer ENVD special topics course, history and histography of Environmental Design: restoring the Dushanbe Teahouse. The work contains paintings and artifacts with progress documentation, and an overview of the Central Asia Region that commemorates the value of cultural heritage and historic preservation through restoration of registered landmarks. Artifacts replicate decorative and structural elements of Boulder’s Dushanbe Teahouse, in which students incorporated the premises of Nakkoshi’s Tajik principles and carefully, applied a composition of colors.
Course instructors: Dr. Azza Kamal and visiting artist Maruf Mirakhmatov
