Environmental Journalism in the Era of Trump
Eric Lipton, a three-time Pulitzer Prize winning reporter, takes us behind the scenes to examine the historic effort by the Trump administration to roll back environmental regulations related to clean air, clean water, pesticides and toxic chemicals. Who are the former industry lobbyists and lawyers inside the Trump administration running this effort? What difference does it make that Scott Pruitt has been ousted?
How much harm (or benefit) has been caused by these changes? We dive into these and other questions, as we walk through site visits Lipton has made in the last year to a dozen spots nationwide—including Montana, Wyoming, Texas, Ohio, Illinois— to examine the impact these changes have had on public health and the environment, and consider what the likely impact is going to be in decades to come.
Mr. Lipton appears as part of the second-annual Len Ackland Lecture Series.
