Assessment, the systematic process of collecting and using data to measure student learning, plays a critically important role in supporting learner success. In this session, we’ll discuss how to design a robust assessment plan that leverages assessment to support learner engagement, motivation, and learning—with the ultimate goal of promoting more positive and equal outcomes for all learners. Specifically, participants will learn how to design “equity-minded assessments” that are well-aligned with course learning objectives, rigorous, transparent, authentic, and inclusive. Participants will also have the opportunity to workshop ways to incorporate equity-minded assessments into their own courses in a supportive, collaborative environment.
