Equity-minded assessment is an approach to assessment that aims to promote more positive and equal outcomes for all learners. In this session, we’ll discuss how to leverage evidence-based and equity-minded assessment practices to support learner engagement, motivation, and learning. Participants will learn strategies for implementing equity-minded assessment at the level of course design and at the level of individual assessments (quizzes, papers, projects, etc.). Participants will also have the opportunity to reflect on their current assessment practices and get feedback on changes they are considering implementing in a supportive, collaborative environment. Lastly, participants will learn about resources to support the implementation of equity-minded assessment in their courses.
