Ethics & Compliance Education Session: Environmental Health & Safety

May’s Monthly Ethics & Compliance Education Series will feature a presentation highlighting the services provided to campus by the professionals on the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) team and how they focus their work to protect you and sustain the campus environment.

Presented by Brandon Boger, Director of Environmental Health & Safety and Derek Hayes, Chemical Safety Program Manager, this session will review who EH&S is and what they do on-campus to ensure a safe environment for our faculty, staff and students.  Whether in the area of Chemical Safety and Laboratory Compliance, Environmental Compliance and Industry Hygiene or Hazardous Materials and Waste Management – there is an area of EH&S that touches each one of our personal work experiences.  In their presentation, Brandon and Derek will strive to connect the work their team does with each of our daily lives at work.

Following an overview of the areas within the organization, real-life situations that have occurred on campus will be shared in order to establish a general understanding of the work our EH&S team puts into keeping us safe.

Attendees will gain a first-hand perspective through the examples shared and also have an opportunity to ask questions of Brandon and Derek as these situations are presented.
