Identify one job posting that looks interesting to you. At the start of our session, we will read these ads together and deconstruct them: What sort of position is this? What sort of applicant are they looking for? What should required materials look like?

We will spend the remaining time studying successful cover letters contributed by faculty and alumni of our department, and more briefly discuss other application materials (CVs, research, teaching, and diversity statements, and sample syllabi). Come with questions!
