On this program in the central Oaxacan town of Teotitlan del Valle, you will develop awareness about the status of Zapotec and other Indigenous languages, and the challenges to revitalization efforts of local languages in the region. You will have the incredible opportunity to collaborate with the local Zapotec speech community to identify priorities for language revitalization and education, and share high impact practices related to classroom instruction and materials design. You'll earn 6 credits in 5 weeks. No Linguistics or TESOL course experience is required; students of all language abilities can participate - Spanish or Zapotec knowledge is not necessary.
