Sometimes faculty and staff find themselves in situations that aren't clearly defined by FERPA, the federal law that protects student education records.

For example, have you ever wondered:

  • Can an instructor post grades on their office door if the grades are only identified by student ID numbers?
  • Is it a FERPA violation to give out a student's phone number or address?
  • Is it okay to send student information to on-campus constituents for accreditation review?
  • How was I supposed to have responded to a situation that came up recently?

Come to our training to learn more about FERPA and understand how the law applies to your specific situation. (CU-SIS access is not required.)
