Title: "The Art of Environmental Research"

Speaker: E. Michael Thurman, Senior Research Associate, Center for Environmental Mass Spectrometry, CU Boulder

E. Michael Thurman, PhD, is a highly cited scientist in environmental chemistry with over 20,000 citations (h-index of 72—Google Scholar) and an Emeritus Scientist with the U.S. Geological Survey, where he worked on pesticide and groundwater chemistry for 30 years.  

He is currently co-director of the Laboratory for Environmental Mass Spectrometry with Imma Ferrer, his life partner and research colleague at CU Boulder. They have worked together these past 20 years on advanced techniques using mass spectrometry and accurate mass applied to environmental chemistry, including five years in the south of Spain at the University of Almeria. Their laboratory is a research collaboration between CU and Agilent Technologies, Inc.
