Fall 2022 Arabic Placement Exam

The Arabic placement exam for Fall 2022 will be held on the following dates.

Wednesday, August 17th, 2022
Time: 11am–1pm
Location: Woodbury 311.

AND

Thursday, August 18^th, 2022
Time: 2-4 pm
Location: Online

Arabic placement exam overview:

The exam consists of an oral interview (max 30 minutes) and, if needed, a written exam that targets a specific course level. The duration of the written exam depends on the level and it does not exceed 90 minutes.

Who should take the placement exam?

• Students seeking admission into the Arabic program and have completed Arabic courses outside the university,

• Students studied on their own or outside the university or acquired Arabic through residence in or travel to an Arabic speaking country,

• Students who studied abroad and want to register for the next level of Arabic,

• Students who have a gap of one year or longer between taking Arabic courses.

The placement exam is not required for:

Continuing students of the Arabic Program at CU who do not have a gap of one year or longer between taking Arabic courses. Students enrolling in ARAB 1010 with no prior knowledge or experience with the Arabic language.
