About this Event
Free EventRemembering Los Seis de Boulder is a short documentary film that explores the tragic events surrounding the deaths of six Chicano activists in Boulder, Colorado, in 1974. Through interviews with current professors and past students, as well as archival footage and photographs, the film brings to light the story of these young students and their fight for social justice.
The film delves into the Chicano movement's historical and cultural context and the community's struggles in the 1970s. It also examines the impact of the deaths of Los Seis on the wider community, and the ongoing efforts to preserve their memory and legacy.
In this documentary, filmmaker Gabby Mejia aims to shed light on a little-known chapter of American history and honor the courage and sacrifice of these young activists. Remembering Los Seis de Boulder is a powerful reminder of the importance of remembering our history and the individuals who have fought for justice and equality.
This film is approximately 22 minutes long. We will have a Q&A session with the filmmaker after the film. Food will be served, so please register in advance!
