About this Event
1610 Pleasant Street, Boulder, CO 80309
Attend the Fall 2024 Arts and Sciences Honors Program Distinguished Lecture event!
Join us for an exciting talk with Dr. Su, where she’ll share her lab’s discovery of 'shapeshifting' cells that help tissue repair and recover after damage. Dr. Su will also discuss how her team is using a plant called the 'firecracker bush' to develop new treatments for Head and Neck Cancers. Learn how studying fruit fly larvae, which can regrow damaged tissues, is helping us understand how tumors return after radiation therapy and find new ways to improve cancer treatment.
Dr. Su is a Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Boulder and a Program Leader at the University of Colorado Cancer Center. Her research team studies how tissues regenerate following damage by radiation and applies what they learn toward improving cancer therapy.
All CU Boulder faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend! Arrive at 5 p.m. for a seat and a slice of pizza.
If you prefer to attend remotely, please join us on Zoom: https://cuboulder.zoom.us/j/97168279975
