The Grad+ Seminar Series led by Leslie Blood, PhD, will consist of weekly 1 hr 15 min check-ins to support goal setting, planning and provide a clear understanding of how values should drive goals and habit structures. Students will find that these seminars provide a solid foundation which should reduce stress and help them find their place in the graduate community.
The 12-week fall session will begin the week of Sept. 16 and will run through the week of Dec. 9 (with no programming Thanksgiving week). All sessions will take place via zoom.
If you have not taken a full year of Grad+ Seminar, we recommend you start with the Introduction to Academic Success option. If you have completed a year or more of Grad+ Seminar, we recommend you sign up for the Advanced Topics option.
Introduction to Academic Success
- Mondays at 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. via zoom
- Introduction to Academic Success is for anyone who wants to discover what it takes to build and maintain academic resiliency. From customized time organizations strategies to strengthening trust and identity, our yearlong seminar will help you discover how to connect your values to your priorities, personalize an accountability plan and build a growth mindset. This seminar is guaranteed to help you build the confidence you need to survive and thrive during graduate school.
Advanced Topics: Academic Resiliency
- Tuesdays at 10-11:15 a.m. via zoom
- Academic Resiliency is the key to your professional success. However, all skills you will learn in our advanced seminar will transfer to your personal life as well. This semester’s topics will feature framing mastery, building a “bulletproof” mindset, rethinking failure, and how to pivot smoothly when plans change. Not only will you learn these skills, but you will also learn how to implement and apply them effectively. This seminar will give you the confidence you need to take on challenges that arise in your academic and personal lives, as well as beyond your tenure at CU, Boulder.
